What’s the easiest way to get to Parka Studios?
Parka Studios is located off of the Eisenhower expressway (Chicago I-290) in between the Austin and Harlem exits on Cermak Ave. (22nd St.) at 6843 W. Cermak Ave., Berwyn, IL 60402. Mapquest.com always works!
Are there places to eat close by to Parka Studios?
Berwyn offers a variety of places to eat, from fast food establishments to Italian, Chinese and Mexican restaurants all within minutes of the studio. Offered are walking distance eateries as well as short driving distance and delivery services depending on the taste of the artist. Upon request Parka Studios offers menus to the local favorite restaurants that deliver.
Do we pay for the time it takes to set up our equipment?
Upon request you can get a half hour to an hour before the session to come in and setup, and we recommend allowing at least a half hour before the scheduled time is up to clean up during the bounce and burning of the final CD to avoid extra charges.
How long does it usually take to record a song?
It really depends on the genre of music and the amount of layers required, as well as the depth of the mix. A rap song requiring only vocals could take anywhere from 2 hours to 5 hours, where as a rock song with a full band can take anywhere from 5 hours to 25 hours. It also depends on how prepared and experienced the artist or band is. You also have to take into consideration the time it takes at the end of a session to bounce the songs from a Protools session to a wav or mp3 format and burn a CD.
Does Parka Studios offer block rate discounts?
We offer discounts when at least 10 hours are booked at once. Depending on the situation we can add a few hours for free or drop the rate per hour a few dollars. The more you book, the more discounts and negotiations are available. Call 708.484.6861 for further inquiries.
What happens when we are done with our session?
Upon completion of the transaction and final payment of the balance, you get a completed CD of the material recorded. We can also set up the songs recorded for further mastering if requested as well as provide the Protools session on a customer provided external hard drive. Does Parka Studios accept credit cards?
At this moment, acceptable payment options include cash or check, credit cards are not accepted at this moment. We apologize for any inconvenience.
